Photos of the Mill Pond work on 11th October

by Figheldean Webmaster at 12:18 13/10/08 (Mill Pond)
Day one of the Mill Pond bank restoration went very quickly, thanks to the large turnout of volunteers.

Here are a few photos to show how we got on.

We're now halfway through this work, hope to see you all same time next Saturday (18th) to finish it off.

The finished product

Once the whole of the framework has been filled, and the matting and mesh secured along its whole length, then we'll plant it up with appropriate riverside species next Spring. Natural colonisation will also happen, and the roots of the plants will help to knit the new bank into place.
