Parish Plan Q&A at the Village Hall

by Figheldean Webmaster at 17:27 09/04/08 (Notice Board)
Don't forget that this Saturday (12th April) between 10 and noon at the Village Hall there's a chance to come and ask any questions you want about the recently published Parish Plan.

All quite informal.

There'll be representatives from the Parish Plan Steering Group, the Parish Council, various organisations, clubs and societies in the village and hopefully some people from SDC and WCC as well.

There'll also be a chance to sign a petition calling for the Government to rethink the number of new houses it's intending to build in the South Wilts area - 12,400 of them.

Even though South Wiltshire is only 1/20 the area of the South West region, it's apparently slated to have 1/8 of the planned new homes built in it.

A widely held view at the "Core Strategy" public meeting at Antrobus House in Amesbury on Tuesday night was that the consultation on this has been too short for people to respond, and that the large number of houses being proposed by central Government does not take into account the impact it might have on the local area.

Please come along if you can.
