Ablington Amenity Plantation is the 3.4 acres of woodland between Figheldean and Ablington where Ablington House once stood prior to its demolition in 1963.

This much loved and well used woodland has been put up for sale by DIO to the highest bidder. The communities of Figheldean and Ablington are trying to prevent this happening.

The following statement was read out last night at the Annual Parish Meeting by Jackie Dryden (Vice Chair, Parish Council).

It's encouraging news, but we need to get cracking if we're to actually Save Our Woods.

To discuss new developments relating to Ablington Woods. 8pm on 7th May in the Village Hall.
Tuesday 16th April, Figheldean Village Hall, 7.30pm.

Updates on where we are right now will be given.

Parish Council meetings are open to the public to observe and, at the beginning of the meeting, to ask questions.

In the first instance, please write to our MP Claire Perry and ask her to use her influence to stop the sale. If you have enjoyed spending time in these woods, tell her your story and point out just how important they are to the community.
