The Parish Plan has recently been delivered to all households in the village.

An electronic version of it is now available here.

We are luckier than most in that the night sky in our area is not completely overwhelmed by the orange glow of streetlights to the same extent as other, less rural parts of the country.

As a result, any time it's dark and the weather is clear we are able to see the Milky Way stretching its arc across the sky.

This is why what light pollution that does exist is so noticeable.

Standing on the recreation ground and looking towards Larkhill in the south west, you're immediately aware of a vast white glow lighting up the sky.

The most recent session of work in the SSSI opposite Avon Banks took place on Saturday 15th Dec 2007.

Half a dozen volunteers from the Bulford Conservation Group spent the day clearing one of the drainage ditches and felling a number of trees alongside it.

Calling all children and young people!

Are you aged between 8 and 16 years old?

We want to hear from you!

Figheldean Parish Council are planning to bid for some money to try to improve the facilities for children and young people in Figheldean Village.

There is a concern that our policing priorities have not been included in those of the local Community Police Area and that it does not reflect what the village wants or needs.

What's your view?

Some photos of this year's fayre - a slightly damp and drizzly day, but it didn't spoil things and everyone had a great time.
There's a proposal to reclassify Figheldean path 12 (currently a bridleway) as a byway open to all traffic which will allow full vehicular access rights along its length.

Please contribute any views you may have on this before 7th June (you can comment here using the 'Reply' link if you're logged in).

If anyone wants to ask about what's involved in installing solar panels on their house, please feel free to add a comment here.
